In 1948, Dale Honn was four years old and already building his own well drilling machine in Kentucky. That curiosity and work ethic runs through everything NEFS does today.
"I can remember, after supper, my dad and I would walk to the drilling rig that was drilling in the area and spend a good portion of the night laying out on the rig, listening to the driller’s stories and watching the activities. They drilled 24 hours per day. It was neat watching the drilling cable, suspended from a pulley on the mast as it would go up and down, pounding the layers of rock beneath the surface. This was before rotary rigs."
